Lumen is an independent search engine. We crawl the open web, extract readable text, and index it with a full-text engine (Tantivy, BM25 ranking).
Search runs on our own infrastructure — not Google or Bing. The index includes pages from Common Crawl and our own crawler. We do not sell your searches to advertisers.
Stack: Python crawl/index pipeline, FastAPI search API, Next.js frontend, Supabase for optional bookmarks and analytics.
